About the Gig:



Our client is looking for a Network Administrator who will install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system. Also act as the primary point of contact for maintaining the base owned WiFi equipment that supports the commercial WiFi across the installation. Tasks include: working daily resolving customer issues, troubleshooting and resolving telephone and telephone switch issues. Monitoring network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. Coordinating the development, implementation, and maintenance of a local area network or wide area network. Maintaining the network's physical and logical structures, including network connections. Maintaining network support software, analyzes user support statistics, and recommends appropriate measures. Installs, tests, and maintains network hardware and software. Preparing and analyzing statistics on network utilization and availability. Preparing training courses and provides user support and training in the use of available hardware, software, and utilities. Performing tuning and capacity planning activities to enhance the performance of the network resources. Performing procedures for backup, recovery, and archival of files stored on the network. Communicating with vendors, users, management, and network programming staff. Serving as contact for remote network locations to obtain clarification of problems and to identify solutions or corrective actions. Conducting product evaluations of upgraded or new hardware and software—identifying strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits to the agency—and recommends enhancements to network facilities.                                                                              
 
Network Administrator Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
  • 4-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • 2+ years Ability to troubleshoot and repair telecommunications switch(es) and Private Branch Exchange configurations and the associated equipment.
  • 2+ years Demonstrated background in customer service orientation, issue resolution, and ability to train end customers.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Knowledge of network facilities and data processing techniques; of personal computer hardware and software; of network operating system and security software; and of performance monitoring and capacity management tools.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or alike.
